RODRIGUES ISLAND

The Island was named after the Portuguese explorer Diogo Rodrigues. Rodrigues Island is part of the Republic Mauritius and is the smallest island of the Mascarene archipelago. As part of the Mauritian territory, the island is also a delightful destination in the middle of the Indian Ocean due to the coral reefs and other wonders that surround the island.

Caverne Patate (Potato Cave)

The cave is very spacious with up to 25m high ceiling. It’s the longest cave in the Republic of Mauritius and in some places the cave can go up it 18m deep and can reach under the sea level. In the cave, you can see gigantic stalagmites and stalactites.


François Leguat Park

This park situated in the southwest of the Island. It’s a reserve for Giant Tortoise that can live for a very long time. But also, the park offers a museum where you can discover the faunal and geological history of Rodrigues. Moreover, the Reserve houses a restaurant where you can restore yourself with typical and heartwarming Mauritian and Rodriguese food. And not to forget the souvenir shop in a magnificent scenery where you can buy souvenir so that you’ll never forget about your delightful trip to Rodrigues Island.
